What is .. Rangda?.

Rangda is the Queen of the leak - leak in the myth of the Balinese. Hideous creature who is told like a child kidnap and eat it and lead the troops is a leak that the evil forces against the Barong, which is a symbol of good strength.
Rangda comes from the ancient Javanese language that is derived from the word Randa meaning Widow
Rangda is a symbol of evil, bad and negative.
Rangda dance, usually at a particular moment in the Temples, such as the celebration ceremony in the temple or God Day.but not every temple in Bali have Rangda,

The legend says that we will be conceded if dancing Rangda dance  in the temple, we do not realize or know what we have done at the time of dancing Dance Rangda. So like us who will not dance the dance Rangda but the Spirit of holy.The Dancer wear sacred masks Rangda, the mask was purified before.

Rangda Mask illustrated, creepy-looking, like the figure of an old woman, fanged, with mouths issued fire, big bulging eyes, long pointy nails and long hair, out the intestinal contents of her stomach. It is said that most likely originated Rangda mythological story of Queen Mahendradatta who lived in the eleventh century on the island of Java. who was exiled by King Dharmodayana for alleged witchcraft have done evil to the king Dharmodayana second empress. According to the story of the Queen Mahendradatta revenge by killing those people with the power of his evil empire, which later became his own empire and owned Dharmodayana son, named Erlangga

There are several types of Rangda.
Rangda types that can be distinguished from the form Rangda it by looking at the form face Rangda, namely:

• Nyinga
If Rangda lion-shaped face and protruding into the front face of the form is called Nyinga Rangda. The nature of this means Rangda fierce and savage.
