What Is NGABEN ???.

What is Ngaben ???..

Ngaben is a cremation ceremony for Hindu,s in Bali.Thus ritual is done to send the bodies to their next life.The body is placed as it were asleep and the families left behind will always remember them that way.The body is placed in a choffin which is placed in sarcophagus,formed as cow made out of wood and paper ,this than is taken to the cemetery to cremate through a process.


The highlight of this event is when the sarcophagus and all is structure, along with body ,are burned. It is believed that ,fire is needed to liberate the spirit out of the body and facilitate their reincarnation .
A long the way to cremation ground certain precaution must be taken to ensure that the deccsed,s spirit does not find its way back home .Loose spirits around the house can be real nuisance.

To ensure this does,nt happen requires getting the spirits confused as to their whereabouts,which you do by shaking the tower ,running it around incircles,spining it around,throwing water at it,generally making the trip to cremation ground anything but a stately funeral crawl.
