What Is NGABEN ???.

What is Ngaben ???..


Ngaben is a cremation ceremony for Hindu,s in Bali.Thus ritual is done to send the bodies to their next life.The body is placed as it were asleep and the families left behind will always remember them that way.The body is placed in a choffin which is placed in sarcophagus,formed as cow made out of wood and paper ,this than is taken to the cemetery to cremate through a process.

Daksina Meaning and types

For the Balinese term / word Daksina is a common thing one needs known to the ceremony.
Daksina derived from the Sanskrit word. Daksina be meaningful wages, Daksina can also mean the south or the name of the offerings. Supplies Daksina namely coconut, duck eggs, whole grains. In Lontar Siwagama, coconuts as a symbol of ananda - of the universe created by God.

Daksina intact in its use is usually coupled with other types of upakara such as: squeeze, ajuman and others. However daksina also can stand alone if it serves as a daksina daksina Linggih. But usually this Linggih daksina ditambahka with chilli was significant as a symbol of the face.

Melasti Ceremony is a series of rituals to welcome Hari Raya Nyepi. According to Hindu belief, Melasti meaningful remove dirt all ourselves and the universe. Done three or two days before Nyepi, the Hindu do Sanctification by Melasti ceremony also called Melis / Mekiyis. What it's... CANANG SARI ?.

Balinese culture, will never be separated from that adopted by the majority Hindu community in Bali. In a Hindu concept of praying facilities, which include: water, fire, flowers, fruit, leaves. In Balinese culture, the concept is then practiced in the art form. One is the diversity of offerings is Canang Sari.

Canang Sari is the simplest form of offerings but is categorized as a means sufficient to do the praying. Canang Sari itself meaningful: offerings in the form of interest (components majority interest).

Offerings form is divided into two parts. The bottom can be shaped like a flat round or rectangular or taledan. Often, too ornate "Trikona / plekir" on the edges. In this section there are pelawa, porosan, sugarcane, kekiping (a type of rice flour cakes), banana or similar gold and lined with yellow rice tangkih. It can also be coupled with fragrant and lengawangi burat like the cymbals buratwangi. On top of it then filled with a variety of flowers arranged as beautiful as possible covered with a "Uras sari / sampian Uras".

Jeruk Bali is one of the large citrus fruit that is different from other forms of oranges we usually see. BARONG - BALI.

Barong Dance is a Balinese dance which is a relic of the Pre-Hindu culture. This dance illustrates the struggle between virtue (dharma) and evil (adharma). using tangible doll quadruped or early humans who have magical powers
Barong mask is made from wood taken from haunted places such as tombs, and therefore sacred Barong is an object that is sanctified by the Hindu community in Bali. This dance show with or without act, always beginning with the show opening, accompanied by gamelan different like Gamelan, Gamelan Gong Kebyar, Gamelan Babarongan, and Gamelan batel.

Gebogan or Pajegan

You know those huge offerings of fruit that women carry to the temple in Bali – those are called gebogan (g’bogan)or pajegan. Basically, they are arrangements of fruit, colourful flowers, cooked chicken, small rice pyramids, grated coconut, roasted peanuts and sweet cakes stacked on top of one another, forming cylindrical towers. These objects are not always combined together, however, and you will often find gebogan made up of either just flowers or fruit, depending on the purpose. The offerings are attached to a banana tree trunk by sharp bamboo skewers. The base of a gebogan can be either a wooden dulang or a metal bokor which support the weight of the tower. Coconut-leaf decorations, known as sampian, ornament the top of the offerings.
